Music at Jubilee – Making a Joyful Sound

The choir is growing!  In the past year several new singers have come on board, including bass section lead, Miladin Danailov, who joins our glorious Soprano soloist, Marie Criscione, in giving the choir a solid foundation.  Under the direction of choir director Arthur Wenk, the two dozen voices of the senior choir prepare for a Sunday morning worship, as well as a variety of special events.

Arthur Wenk, known in the Toronto musical scene as founder and director of the Toronto Camerata, and more recently of the sixteen-voice Quodlibet, has conducted church, school, university and community choirs all over North America.  An accomplished pianist and organist, Dr. Wenk has shown a particular talent for bringing out the best in amateur singers and joining them into a successful musical ensemble.

There’s a new vitality to be felt in the Jubilee choir, enhanced by the fine acoustics of the church and the sound of a grand piano, and a revoiced and expanded pipe organ.

            If you’re attracted by:

·        fine music

·        a dynamic director

·        a large, able ensemble

·        splendid acoustics

·        an active and welcoming faith community,

you might consider spending your Thursday evenings at Jubilee United Church and helping the choir to make joyous music in the Sunday morning services.

(For younger singers, the Junior Choir rehearses for a few minutes right after the service on Sunday mornings.)
