We are sorting out key/fobs for church access. If you have a fob and no longer need it, as you have managed to retire from a committee, please return it to the office for reuse.

You are invited to continue to pledge money for each pound lost.  The deal is that Norm will pay $1000 to Jubilee for its various programs if he does not succeed, and sponsors will pay whatever they offered for every pound between 25 and 30 lbs.  (At $5/lb, you pay $0 for 24 lbs, $125 for 25 lbs, $150 for 30 lbs or more.)

of the Big Bad Book?

Do you read the Bible?
Do you understand what this wonderful library of faith writing is all about?

Beginning in Late September or Early October, 

Jubilee will begin several

NOT a Bible Study, but a Study OF the Bible

Learning Groups to engage in the Bible as a whole.

 

http://www.rideaupark.ca/graphics/jesus24-7.jpgUsing Rev. Dr. David Bruce’s recently published “Jesus 24/7 – Reading the Bible” we begin 12 and 6 week programmes for those who would like to discover a little more about the book that truly presents Jesus’ world view. 

The 12 week group will meet once a week for 60-90 minutes, the 6 week will meet monthly or every other week for 2 hours.  There will be at least an afternoon group and an evening group.  Participants will purchase the book for $19.95 (arranged through the office). 

This study comes from a United Church of Canada context, is written by a somewhat right orthodox theologian and will be lead by a somewhat left progressive process theologian.

    How can you go wrong?

If you are interested, please sign up on the sheet in the foyer and indicate your preferences for time, duration and frequency of meeting.  This could be a great experience for us all…

FoodShare’s flagship program, the Good Food Box distributes between 2,500 and 3000 boxes per month through 200 neighborhood-based drop-offs, including Jubilee United Church.  They buy only top quality fresh fruit and vegetables directly from local farmers and from the Ontario Food Terminal.  A newsletter that offers nutritional information, plus easy and economical food preparation tips, accompanies all boxes.
